Tottenham have opened talks with Genoa for Radu Dragusin and have already prepared their first offer for the talented defender.

Ange Postecoglou’s side recently lost starting centre back Cristian Romero to a painful hamstring injury, an issue that’ll keep the World Cup winner sidelined until early February at the earliest. Micky van de Ven has only recently returned from his own hamstring injury and needs to regain his fitness.

Spurs had been looking to make a move for Nice’s Jean-Clair Todibo but talks with the French side progressed slowly, pushing the North London club to start focusing on other targets. Dragusin has already been identified as an intriguing option.

Page 26 of today’s Tuttosport details how Genoa have set a €30m price tag on Dragusin, who seems destined to leave in the coming months, and Tottenham have prepared a first offer of €25m, keen to snap up the talented centre back.

Considering the small gap between offer and request, Spurs could likely close out a deal by including some add-ons or other incentives to the proposal.

Dragusin’s agent told the media on Saturday that his client would only leave Genoa for one of the top clubs in Serie A or the Premier League, seemingly opening the door for Tottenham.
