Tottenham director Fabio Paratici speaks about the financial investigation involving him and Juventus for the first time: ‘ Someone is attacking, and the other can’t even cross the midfield line.’

The 50-year-old is among the 12 people under investigation by the Turin Prosecutor for alleged false accounting, among other things.

Paratici spent 11 years at Juventus and was responsible for transfers, covering the role of Football Chief Officer from 2018 until 2021. He is accused of having registered deals with inflated transfer values to balance the Old Lady’s books from 2019 until 2021.

On Monday evening, RAI aired a TV show about the Prisma investigation involving the Bianconeri and Paratici briefly spoke to reporters.

“Right now, I am not ready, I am a bit upset, and it bothers me to talk about this,” he said, as quoted by Ilbianconero.

“Honestly, a few things are not quite clear, and I want to remain quiet; I am still not ready.”

When asked whether he feels responsible for the so-called ‘Juventus’ system,’ he replied: “Everyone has his version; right now, it’s one-sided. Someone is attacking, and the other can’t even cross the midfield line.”

The preliminary hearing for the Prisma investigation into Juventus has been set for March 27, ANSA reported on Monday.

Among the evidence collected by investigators is a notebook belonging to current Juventus director Federico Cherubini where Paratici is accused of making investments ‘out of reach’ for the Bianconeri.

Paratici left Juventus at the end of the 2020-2021 campaign, joining Tottenham in the summer of 2021.
