Italian newspapers also now see Tottenham Hotspur as the favourites to sign Fiorentina striker Dusan Vlahovic, ahead of Juventus, Arsenal and Manchester City.

The Serbia international has refused to sign a new contract and his current deal expires in June 2023, so a January exit is likely, if not then certainly over the summer.

It had been assumed that Juve were his favoured destination, but their difficulties in selling other players to raise funds are allowing others to step in.

The Corriere dello Sport today maintains that Tottenham are the new favourites for Vlahovic, especially as they had been prepared to break the bank last summer anyway.

Now that Antonio Conte has arrived as their new manager, with director general Fabio Paratici, Spurs have a direct line to Fiorentina.

The Viola would much prefer selling Vlahovic abroad rather than to their arch-rivals Juventus, especially after losing Federico Chiesa to them already.

The asking price is circa €80m, which would not be a problem for Spurs.

Arsenal are also ready to spend big, but Sky Sport Italia have reported Vlahovic’s agents won’t even accept their calls.

Manchester City are also known to be interested, with Borussia Dortmund emerging as contenders should Erling Haaland move on.

  1. Was it ever a doubt this would happen since Conte took over? Its well known Kane wants to leave and what a replacement.

    Milan though, please, Dusan.

  2. Why would you think he would stay in Italy when he can grab a great contract in the Premier League? There’s zero risk of going to an English side who would be able to pay Italian superstar wages for bench players even.

  3. serie A should not lose players of such quality to other leagues.this will stall the growth of serie A.sell within the league
