According to La Repubblica newspaper, Newcastle were the first club to make an offer for Genoa defender Radu Dragusin at the beginning of January, but Tottenham Hotspur outbid the Magpies.

The 21-year-old centre-back is one of the most wanted Serie A players in the winter transfer window, with several clubs linked to securing his services this month.

Tottenham, Napoli, Milan and Bayern Munich are all said to be interested in the Romania international with Repubblica reporting that the Rossoneri are ready to offer Lorenzo Colombo in a player-plus-cash swap deal.

The Italian newspaper adds that Newcastle were the first club to show interest in Dragusin at the very beginning of the January transfer window. The Magpies reportedly valued the 21-year-old centre-back at €25m, but Spurs outbid their Premier League rivals with a €26m offer plus add-ons to reach circa €30m.

Sky Sport Italia reports Genoa held a new round of talks with all the clubs interested in Dragusin on Monday morning.

The Rossoblu seem in no rush to sell the former Juventus defender in the January transfer window.

Dragusin has played 19 Serie A games this season, scoring two goals.
