Tottenham will go all-in for Dusan Vlahovic if selling Harry Kane to Manchester City, as Sky Sport Italia claim contract extension talks have broken down with Fiorentina.

The striker has an asking price of at least €70-80m, but a summer sale is more likely if the 21-year-old does not agree a new deal with the Viola.

According to Sky Sport Italia transfer expert Gianluca Di Marzio, those negotiations had been going strong, but have now hit a brick wall.

The reason is the extra incentives and commissions that Vlahovic’s agents are asking for.

Fiorentina’s proposal was a contract worth €3.5m per season, plus another €0.5m in easy to achieve bonuses.

There would also be a release clause in the deal worth €80m.

The agents requested a €2.5m signing-on fee, which Fiorentina were not entirely against.

The real problems were conditions that effectively were laying the groundwork for a transfer next summer, giving themselves the exclusive mandate to sell Vlahovic in 2022.

These included either five per cent of the transfer fee if it was under €80m or 80 per cent of the profit if they managed to negotiate a deal for over €80m.

Atletico Madrid have now abandoned their Vlahovic pursuit, leaving only Tottenham Hotspur with any real chance of meeting these costs.

They in turn would only go for the Serbian if first selling Kane to Manchester City in a move worth over €150m.

  1. Weeks of dealing by Levy and you can bet your last pound that we’ll not sign him but we’ll end up signing some cheaper quality striker that will be a complete waste of money.
