Italian football is in mourning after former Torres Coach Vincenzo Cosco lost his battle with cancer, aged 51.
The tactician left the Lega Pro club at Christmas, writing an open letter to fans confirming the cancer had returned.
“It is invading my body again and I am forced to say goodbye to football.”
A week ago he sent another message to supporters, congratulating them for Torres securing safety from relegation.
“Thank you to my players and the Torres fans who write to me every day and help me continue fighting.”

As a player Cosco had gone up to Serie C2 level with Castel di Sangro, but interrupted his career in the 1990s after being diagnosed with a tumour.
He then coached at Gela, Paganese, Andria, Matera and even in Hungary for Sopron.
The cancer returned last year and this time it proved fatal for the 51-year-old.
