Torino are on the verge of completing four new signings, with Paulo Barreto, Giovanni Pasquale, Angelo Palombo and Valter Birsa close.

The Granata have all but confirmed the arrivals of Barreto and Pasquale from Udinese, and according to Gazzetta dello Sport are currently working on persuading Sampdoria's Palombo and Genoa's Birsa to join the club.

Brazilian forward Barreto has spent his entire career on the peninsula, but has suffered injury issues and fallen out of favour at the Stadio Friuli.

Left back Pasquale has had more of an influence for the Zebrette, playing 64 games for Francesco Guidolin's side, but is now a fringe player, featuring only from the bench in the Champions League play-off defeat to Braga on Tuesday.

Samp midfielder Palombo would be Toro's marquee signing of the summer were the deal to go through. On loan at Inter last season, the 30-year-old regista has played over 300 games for the Genovese outfit and has 22 caps for Italy.

Last but not least, Birsa is a Slovenian set piece specialist who left Auxerre to join Genoa on a free transfer last summer.
