Cristian Ansaldi has revealed that he is one of the six Torino players to test positive for COVID in recent weeks.

The 35-year-old Argentinian left back posted a photo on his Instagram page of himself and his wife Lucila wearing oxygen masks, accompanied by the caption: “Passing COVID together.”

Torino are hoping that Ansaldi recovers fully from the virus soon, with the team considering resuming their activities following the recent stop.

Five other Granata players are also out with COVID, which is why their match against Atalanta on Thursday was postponed, as the local health authority blocked them from playing.

The current COVID situation has become a hot topic and there’s a chance that Serie A games will return to being played behind closed doors. Updates are expected next week following a meeting between the Italian government and the football institutions.

The 35-year-old Ansaldi has made 10 Serie A appearances this season, for a total of 443 minutes. He’s missed seven games already this campaign due to muscle injuries.
