Torino President Urbano Cairo warns Inter, and any other prospective buyers, that Gleison Bremer will only be sold ‘for a suitable offer,’ believed to be €50m.

The centre-back was named Defender of the Season in Serie A for 2021/22 thanks to his performances for the Granata.

He signed a new contract, with the promise that he would be allowed to leave if a big club came calling.

“There is a price-tag,” said Torino patron Cairo at the presentation of his television channel La7.

“I have a very good rapport with his agent and saw him only yesterday. Bremer is an extraordinary lad and I told him that I would sell the moment a suitable offer came in, not dragging it out.

“However, with all due respect for Milan Skriniar, if he has €70m offers and is two years older than Bremer, then I think Bremer must be worth more than the figures I’ve seen in the papers.

“My objective is to make him happy, but I did not promise I would send him here or there.”

Sportitalia have for months reported that Bremer pledged his future to Inter, who need to sell Skriniar first before they can afford the Brazilian.

It is believed that Inter want to pay under €40m for him, whereas Torino are looking for closer to €50m.

There is also interest from numerous other clubs, including Juventus, Milan, Chelsea, Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester United, but Bremer seems to have his heart set on the Nerazzurri.

The 25-year-old is under contract with the Granata until June 2024 and was purchased from Atletico Mineiro in 2018 for only €5.8m.

He already has 98 Serie A appearances under his belt, during which the centre-back scored 11 goals.
