With both sides experiencing disappointing midweek defeats, these Torino vs. Verona predictions focus on a clash of clubs hoping to get back to winning ways. A close affair could well be on the cards.

Torino vs. Verona odds

1 – Torino to win – 19/20

2 – Over 2.5 goals scored – 13/10

3 – Both teams to score – 21/20

4 – Duván Zapata to score anytime – 2/1

5 – Torino to win 2-1 – 8/1

After back-to-back wins at the start of September, Torino were only able to pick up one point from their two games against the teams from the capital in the last week and will now be looking to finish the month off with three more points.

It has not been a particularly poor start to the new Serie A campaign for Ivan Jurić’s side but he will want to get a few more points on the board if Torino are to improve on last year’s performance.

The visit of Hellas Verona poses its own problems but the Granata will be favourites to win at home – and it could be a good time for Duván Zapata to add to his goal tally after joining on loan from Atalanta in the summer.

Verona needed a special playoff game to secure their top-flight status last season, of course, and will be keen to not have to go through that experience again this term. Two victories to kick the campaign off suggested things had changed at the Bentegodi, but one point from the last four games suggests that the Gialloblu could face familiar problems once again.

Marco Baroni will feel as though his side could have done better in the last few weeks, although the one-goal margin of defeat against Atalanta on Wednesday could really have been greater.

Getting something from this trip to Turin seems like a slightly easier task but Verona should expect a tough game on Monday. The fans may be able to celebrate a goal at the Stadio Olimpico Grande Torino – but the visitors may have to make the trip home empty-handed.

Torino team news

Ivan Jurić has been having to deal with a series of injuries to his defenders in the last few weeks and Alessandro Boungiorno is the latest name on the list. He limped off in midweek and Saba Sazonov may start from the beginning against Verona.

Verona team news

Marco Baroni still has a number of injury concerns for some key players in his squad – but there is nothing new to deal with, so should be able to put out a similar starting XI to the one that lost at home to Atalanta on Wednesday. Thomas Henry may start up front though, after coming on as a sub against La Dea.
