Just hours after reports Torino had struck a deal for Frosinone defender Federico Gatti, it’s now claimed Juventus have matched the offer.

The 23-year-old centre-back has impressed in Serie B this season and also shown an eye for goal, finding the net three times.

He had also been linked with Napoli, Milan, Inter and Juventus, but Sportitalia suggested Torino had agreed a fee worth €7m plus €2m in add-ons.

Suddenly, Sky Sport Italia, Goal.com and others claim this evening that Juve have dived in with the same terms as their city rivals, effectively creating a Derby della Mole on the transfer market.

With both of them putting forward the same proposal, it comes down to the player himself to make a decision on his next career step.

His contract with Frosinone runs to June 2025.

He only joined for a minimal fee in the summer of 2021 after experiences with various lower-level sides including Pro Patria, Verbania and Alessandria.
