Torino ultras urged Giampiero Ventura to leave, but President Urbano Cairo assured “we’re already planning next season.”

The Granata fans laid out a huge banner before kick-off in today’s 0-0 draw with Carpi that was a back-handed compliment.

“15-05-16: End of the adVENTURe. Thank you for everything, Mister.”

This assumes the Coach will leave at the end of the season, something Ventura and the club have in no way confirmed.

“15-05-16: End of the adVENTURe. Thank you for everything, Mister.”

This assumes the Coach will leave at the end of the season, something Ventura and the club have in no way confirmed.

“Ventura is untouchable,” insisted President Cairo on Sky Sport Italia.

“I won’t just be happy with five years. I have locked him down until 2018 and I won’t allow him to leave Torino. We are already planning next season, starting from the transfer strategy.”

Ventura was standing next to Cairo and joked this announcement would “spark mass suicides in Turin.

“The truth is I didn’t see anything offensive in that banner. It was thanking me for what I’ve done. The Coach could change at the end of the season, as it could at any club, that’s only natural.”

The 0-0 draw against Carpi had a late penalty, but Maxi Lopez’s spot-kick was saved. Why did Ciro Immobile not take it?

“Both players are penalty takers. Maxi Lopez picked up the ball and wanted to take it today. We leave the players free to decide between themselves.”
