Torino sporting director Davide Vagnati insists Andrea Belotti is an ‘exceptional professional’ but doesn’t guarantee the striker will sign a contract extension.
Belotti’s contract expires in June 2022, but talks with Torino are currently on hold.
Today, the club’s director Davide Vagnati provided updates about the striker’s future during Marko Pjaca and Tommaso Pobega’s unveiling press conference.
“Andrea cares about Torino, he is an exceptional professional and his attitude would not change even if another club contacted him.
“We talk every day, but we don’t discuss a new deal. Results will be crucial for Torino and Belotti’s future.
“There must be no hysteria. The transfer market has changed and it will happen more and more frequently to see players approaching the end of their contracts.”
I’ve read on a separate site that a team in England is watching the situation and may target the winter transfer window for Belotti. I hope he stays, leads Torino to the top half of the table, and then during summer, either Torino make a marked effort to build with him or he leaves for another team in Serie A (as long as it’s not Inter). The guy’s a workhorse, and I like watching him play (also for giggles I time how long he plays in a game before he falls to the ground).
