This week, current Toro President Urbano Cairo declared that they would fight to have the title awarded as the rebuilding of the historic Stadio Filadelfia officially got underway.
“In the Filadelfia, Torino won seven Scudetti, not six,” Cairo said on Monday.
“Il Grande Torino took five Scudetti, and in the 1920s we won two, not just one. Two Scudetti were won by Torino’s ‘Trio of Wonders’, but one was mysteriously revoked.
“That Scudetto was ours in every respect. We must try to get it back.”
This morning’s Tuttosport carries a quote from FIGC President Carlo Tavecchio, indicating that the matter will be investigated.
“After receiving a detailed request from Torino, as well as for other reasons, the Federation is willing to pursue the matter.”
