Torino are reportedly tired of waiting for Robin Gosens to accept their offer, so are evaluating Atalanta’s Mitchel Bakker and Ulisses Garcia of Olympique Marseille too.

President Urbano Cairo confirmed when speaking to reporters last night that Gosens was “still thinking about it” after the club agreed a basic fee with Union Berlin.

“It’s not that he said he is not ready to come, but he is thinking about it. When you think too long, it’s difficult to get things done. Once these things drag on, we have to proceed.”

Torino look beyond Gosens

According to Sky Sport Italia, 24 hours later was enough for Torino to decide this was not going to go their way and they have instead begun to evaluate other alternatives.

Among them is Garcia of Olympique Marseille, a 28-year-old Switzerland international who only joined the Ligue 1 side in January for €4m.

A more likely option is Bakker, who has struggled to get any playing time at Atalanta since the €9.5m transfer from Bayer Leverkusen last summer.

The 24-year-old former Paris Saint-Germain player can work on the left flank or as a central defender when needed.
