Torino are trying to bring Scotland international striker Che Adams to Serie A after his contract with Southampton expired, negotiating over personal terms.

The forward just turned 28 this month and is a free agent, so there is no transfer fee to be negotiated.

According to Tuttosport and Tuttomercatoweb, the Granata are in advanced negotiations, as the player and his representative have been in Italy for a couple of days for talks with a few different clubs.

Toro are the favourites and trying to whittle down the difference on personal terms.

Adams holding out for more

It is reported that the offer is a contract worth €1.8m per season plus performance-related bonuses, and a €1.5m signing-on bonus.

Adams was said to be looking for €2m to put pen to paper, quite apart from the salary details.

He has 33 senior caps for Scotland, in which he scored only six goals, and has also been linked with Wolves.

His previous clubs include Sheffield United, Birmingham City and he had been at Southampton from 2019 until the contract expired on June 30.
