Torino are reportedly interested in signing Napoli left-back Mario Rui for €14m, but face competition from Benfica and Sporting CP.

According to Tuttosport, Toro Coach Walter Mazzarri is a fan of the 27-year-old and has included him on his list of reinforcements, if his side qualifies for next season’s Europa League.

The former Empoli and Roma defender earns around €2m a year at the Stadio San Paolo, and his contract there runs until 2022.

The Partenopei would be willing to sell for somewhere between €13m-14m, a fee that wouldn’t scare off Toro President Urbano Cairo.

Mario Rui has fallen out of Coach Carlo Ancelotti's favour this season after a series of high-profile errors led to him receiving some harsh criticism from the Napoli fan base.

He even refused to celebrate scoring his first goal of the season in the 2-1 win against SPAL last weekend, all of which makes it likely that he will head for an exit in the summer.

The Portugal international has started just 16 league games this term and has been linked with both Benfica and Sporting Lisbon in recent days.
