Torino centre-back Gleison Bremer has been named Defender of the Season in Serie A, which is why he’ll be one of the hottest names on the summer transfer market in Europe.

The Brazilian turned 25 in March and has gone from strength to strength at Toro since arriving from Atletico Mineiro in 2018.

It has been comfortably his best campaign, also scoring three goals and providing one assist, but it is his ability to neutralise top opponents that earned the most praise.

The Lega Serie A named Bremer their top defender for the 2021-22 season, calling him ‘an unclimbable wall’ in the Granata back three.

Currently out with an ankle injury and therefore set to miss tonight’s closer with Roma, he has been linked with numerous big clubs for this summer.

They include Inter, Milan, Napoli, Manchester United, Paris Saint-Germain, Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspur, Chelsea, Liverpool, Newcastle United and Leicester city.

The asking price will be at least €45-50m for the centre-back.

  1. Lol when I say that the liga doesn’t like Milan here is yet another proof. Tomori has been by far the best most consistent defender in Serie A this year fighting on all fronts and they give it to the mid table Torino guy. They don’t even hide it anymore.

  2. OK, Tomori, but also, Skriniar, Chiellini. Now we know why Inter should buy him, but only if they sell stars. Then, what’s the point?
