Shkodran Mustafi

Torino have agreed a €7.5m sale for Lyanco to Southampton, so are challenging Adana Demirspor for free agent Shkodran Mustafi.

The deal has been done with the Saints for Lyanco, as the centre-back is expected to have his medical and complete the transfer over the next few days.

Real Betis had been interested for weeks, but couldn’t afford the asking price.

Now Toro need a replacement and are seeking free agent Mustafi, who is available after leaving Schalke 04.

The 29-year-old had also been linked with Genoa, Napoli and Fiorentina, while Tuttomercatoweb maintain Torino’s strongest competition is Turkish club Adana Demirspor.

David Luiz had been Adana Demirspor’s primary target, but turned down the move to Turkey.

Mustafi is no stranger to Serie A, having played for Sampdoria in 2012-14, earning a massive €41m transfer to Arsenal from Valencia in 2016.

He struggled with muscular injuries in recent years, stalling the progress of his career.
