Belgium international Jason Denayer seemed to be on the verge of a move to Torino, but is now tempted by Al-Ettifaq FC.

The 27-year-old defender is a free agent after his contract with Olympique Lyonnais expired on June 30.

His previous clubs include Manchester City, Celtic, Galatasaray and Sunderland.

It was widely reported he was ready to accept a three-year contract in Serie A with Torino, which would be worth circa €3m per season.

However, now Sacha Tavolieri in Belgium claims that Denayer had his head turned by a more lucrative proposal from Saudi Pro League club Al-Ettifaq FC.

No decision has yet been made, but Toro risk missing out on one of their primary transfer targets to replace Gleison Bremer in the back three.

Denayer has 35 senior caps for Belgium and plays primarily as a centre-back, but can also work as a right-back or a defensive midfielder when necessary.
