Newcastle United are prepared to spend €30m to get Gleison Bremer in January, but Torino are close to agreeing a contract extension.

The centre-back further consolidated his reputation during a 4-0 Serie A victory over Fiorentina, in which he completely neutralised on-form striker and fellow Premier League transfer target Dusan Vlahovic.

According to the Corriere Granata, Newcastle have made an offer worth €30m to get the Brazilian during the January transfer window.

However, Torino have no intention of letting him go mid-season and instead are very close to agreeing an extended contract to June 2025.

That will be able to further boost his price-tag once Bremer does become available over the summer.

There is plenty of competition for the 24-year-old, including from the likes of Milan, Napoli, Everton and Chelsea.

His current contract only runs to June 2023 and Bremer has scored two goals in 19 Serie A appearances so far this season, along with an assist.

  1. Let`s be serious for a moment, none of the top potential players would go to Newcastle

  2. Bad news for those other clubs though. It means Bremer’s valuation is sky rocketing and an extension will only solidify it. He won’t be going to Newcastle, but he also won’t be going to Milan. Next.

  3. Viktor, Urbano Cairo is no fool and he just rejected a 30m euro offer for the player. Clearly Bremer’s profile is on the up. So how much do you think he’ll be worth in the summer? 40m? Maybe 50? When was the last time Milan spent 40m on one player? Also, given that we need a real RW, another AMC for depth/competition to Diaz and are still looking for a striker, does it make it more likely Milan would spend that 40m for one player? MAYBE the one way Bremer makes the switch is via a reduction in price by the inclusion of Pobega, but do we want that to happen? Just being realistic…

  4. There we go again. Parasitic EPL clubs circling Serie A best prospects. Amazing how poorly Serie A is viewed by the English, but they froth at the mouth for Serie A players. It’s a real pity Italian clubs can’t compete economically with these foreign clubs, because if they could, UCL final winners and Ballon D’or winners would once again grace the Serie A.
