Torino are reportedly pushing for a deal with Crotone to sign forward Junior Messias, but face competition from Genoa.

The 30-year-old Brazilian scored nine goals in 36 Serie A games but didn’t manage to help Crotone stay in the top flight.

But the forward caught the attention of Ivan Juric, who has recently moved from Hellas Verona to Torino, and patron Urbano Cairo is working to satisfy the Croatian coach.

Tuttomercatoweb reports Torino are pushing for a deal with Crotone and could enter in advanced talks this week.

However, the report claims there’s still a gap between the offer and the demand, but Torino are working quickly to overtake any possible rivals.

Genoa are mentioned as another candidate to fight for Messias’ signature this summer, as the forward seems set for an immediate return to Serie A in 2021-22.

Messias moved to Crotone in January 2019 and his current deal expires in June 2024.
