Urbano Cairo says Torino did ‘anything they could’ to extend with Andrea Belotti, so the striker must ‘focus on the pitch now.’
Belotti sees his current deal expire at the end of the season and is unlikely to sign a new deal.
“The situation is clear,” Cairo told Radio 1.
“We can’t do more than what we already did, considering the moment and our offer, we’ll see if he has other ideas.
“Now, he must focus on the pitch and not think about this.”
The Granata owner had claimed in a previous interview that Belotti was unlikely to sign a contract extension with the Granata.
Cairo is also critical towards the COVID protocol approved by Lega Serie A last week.
Games will go ahead if there are 13 players available, including one goalkeeper.
Clubs can pick players from their first team and Primavera team provided that footballers are born before December 31, 2003, and tested negative at least 24 hours before the game.
“I don’t think it’s a fair protocol, I don’t think it’s reasonable,” Cairo said.
“Playing with 13 players and using footballers from the Primavera team means to go beyond.
“The English system is more reasonable because injured players are also considered among the absentees and they can pick youngsters who played at a professional level.
“Football must go ahead. What happens in England is acceptable with stadiums full of only vaccinated people.”
