Atalanta midfielder Matteo Pessina now has two offers on the table from Torino and Serie A newcomers Monza.

The 25-year-old played a role in Italy’s EURO 2020 triumph and has four goals in 14 senior caps for the Azzurri.

His performances at club level were more disappointing this season, making only 37 appearances in all competition, with two goals and one assist.

The failure to qualify for Europe means Pessina is one of the Atalanta players on the market this summer.

Monza had already shown an interest and it would represent a return home for the player, who started his career in the Monza youth academy.

However, now Sky Sport Italia report that Torino have also stepped in with a bid for Pessina, who could continue working in a similar tactical style to Gian Piero Gasperini with Ivan Juric.

The coach already worked with Pessina at Hellas Verona in the 2019-20 campaign, during which the midfielder scored seven goals in 35 Serie A games.
