Salvatore Sirigu admits Torino “are aiming for the Europa League, while knowing it will be difficult”.
The Granata lost Davide Zappacosta and Marco Benassi in the summer, but kept hold of the likes of Andrea Belotti, leading some to tip them for European qualification.
“It’s right that there’s a lot of ambition, but I’m not used to making proclamations,” Sirigu said in an interview with Sky.

“We’re aiming for the Europa League while knowing it will be difficult, we’re thinking game-by-game without getting ahead of ourselves after a winning run.”
The 30-year-old goalkeeper has won 17 caps for Italy, and was Gigi Buffon’s backup for several years, but has fallen behind Gianluigi Donnarumma and Mattia Perin in the pecking order.
“After six years in Azzurro it’s only right that I want to be part of the national team and play for my chances.
“It’s normal, but I’ll do it in a calm and quiet way. I don’t like to see people making proclamations, especially when it comes to the national team.
“To get into the squad you have to be competitive and consistent, and re-enter into a technical project.”
