Dusan Vlahovic is Serie A’s highest-paid player in Serie A in 2024-25 despite Lautaro Martinez’s recent contract extension with Inter. Here are the top five highest-earners in the league.
Juventus have started the season in exciting fashion, scoring six goals and conceding none in the opening two Serie A matches. Their star striker, Dusan Vlahovic, scored a brace against Verona, inspiring Thiago Motta’s second consecutive 3-0 win in charge of the Bianconeri.
Vlahovic’s salary has raised to €12m this season, which means that the Serbia international is the highest-paid player in the league for 2024-25.
Juventus are quite accustomed to having the highest-paid player on their ranks as they paid €30m per season to Cristiano Ronaldo from 2018 until 2021. According to ExpressVPN’s report CR7 currently is the highest-earning football player in the world ‘with a staggering yearly salary of over 218 million USD’ at Al Nassr.
Serie A’s biggest 2024-25 earner Vlahovic is followed by Napoli star Victor Osimhen, as reported by Sky Sport, but the Nigeria international has now joined Galatasaray on loan.
Last season’s top scorer, Lautaro Martinez, has agreed to a €9m-a-year contract at Inter, signing a new deal until 2029, and is currently the third highest-earner in the Serie A.
Lautaro could be reached by Paulo Dybala this season as the Argentinean’s salary has automatically raised to €7m per season plus €2m add-ons.
La Joya could have earned €25m per season in Saudi Arabia, but he surprisingly rejected an offer from Al-Qadsiah.
“Everyone asks about the money. I put lots of things on the table, like my family, my wife, the city, the team, wanting to get back into the national team,” the Argentine said after a 2-1 loss to Empoli on Sunday.
“I am 30 years old, and I feel good. Although I see a lot of criticism about my injuries, I try to look after myself. Obviously, you cannot say that you don’t think about it when you see that money, but there are many other things to consider and that is why I made the decision.”
The other highest earners in Serie A play for Inter. Before Lautaro, the Nerazzurri extended with another star, Nicolò Barella, who massively contributed to a historic title victory in 2023-24.
The Italy international put pen to paper on a new deal with Inter before last summer’s Euros and is the highest Italian earner in the league with a €6.5m-a-year salary.
His teammates Hakan Calhanoglu and Marcus Thuram earn slightly less than €6m per season, the same salary as Romelu Lukaku at Napoli. Now that Osimhen has left the Stadio Maradona, all of them will be among the top five earners in the league.
