With the end of the summer transfer window, Apollo Heyes looks back over the last two months to see the top 10 most expensive signings in Serie A.

Italian clubs were hard at work this summer, completing both sales and signings to strengthen their squads for the 2023-24 season. Over 500 players officially left their respective clubs and over 230 arrived, bringing some new faces to the league as some familiar favourites departed.

Four different clubs have won the Scudetto over the last four seasons, leaving everything to fight for in the new season, making transfer market business even more important in the race to the top.

The list below does not include any players who arrived on loans with buy options nor those whose permanence clauses were activated this summer, ruling out players like Charles De Ketelaere and Manuel Locatelli.
