“I’m better,” Toni assured Sky.
“I’ve recovered a bit of a calf problem, and I’ll join the team during the week to prepare for Sunday. There’s a big points gap, but we just have to think about winning.
“After that we’ll see. It’s difficult, but there are a lot of situations like that in football, so we’ll try. There are 17 games to go, we’ll try to win them all and see what happens.”
Gigi Buffon announced this evening that he intends to retire after the 2018 World Cup, but his former Azzurri teammate admits he’ll have to hang up his boots before then.
“Buffon at the 2018 World Cup? I don’t know what he’ll do, but not me. Sooner or later I’ll have to stop.
“We’ll see how I am in June, physically and mentally, then I’ll decide. Meanwhile, I’m just thinking about playing.”
