Sandro Tonali has extended his Milan contract to June 2027, doubling his current salary and committing his future to the club.

The 22-year-old visited the Casa Milan headquarters with his agent today, signing the paperwork with directors Paolo Maldini and Frederic Massara.

Tonali was purchased from Brescia in 2020, initially on loan for €10m with an additional €6.9m to complete the transfer.

In order to help Milan make the move go through, at the time the midfielder accepted a lower salary at just €1.2m per season.

He was promised a significant raise once the financial situation at the club was more stable and that time has come, bringing with it a boost to almost €3m per season.

Tonali grew up as a Milan supporter and jumped at the chance to join the Rossoneri, helping them win the Scudetto last season.

The news comes a day after the Rossoneri extended the contract of his fellow teammate Rade Krunic until 2025.
