The 28-man Italy squad preparing for the European Under-21 Championship has been named, including Sandro Tonali, Moise Kean, Giorgio Scalvini and Destiny Udogie.

Coach Paolo Nicolato will work with the group from June 7 to 12 in Tirrenia before whittling it down to the final 23 that will participate in the tournament.

It will be hosted by Georgia and Romania, running from June 21 to the Final on July 8.

The Azzurrini open their group stage with France on June 22, followed by Switzerland on June 25 and Norway on June 28.

There is a return to the Under-21 level for Milan midfielder Tonali and Atalanta defender Scalvini, who had been promoted to Roberto Mancini’s senior squad.

It is also a first call-up for Empoli midfielder Jacopo Fazzini.

Italy are currently preparing for the semi-final of the Under-20 World Cup, which will be against South Korea.
