Milan defender Fikayo Tomori will miss tomorrow’s Champions League match against Atletico Madrid, but could return to action against Sassuolo on Sunday.

The English defender was forced to watch Milan’s 4-3 loss against Fiorentina on the sidelines last weekend and hasn’t yet recovered from a hip injury.

Tomori has not been included in the Rossoneri squad list to face Atletico Madrid at the Wanda Metropolitano tomorrow.

The Serie A giants need to get all three points in Spain to keep their last 16 qualification hopes alive.

During his pre-match press conference, Stefano Pioli specified that Tomori’s injury was caused by a problem in the obturator muscle.

Matteo Gabbia replaced the former Chelsea in Florence last week as Alessio Romagnoli wasn’t 100 per cent fit.

The former Sampdoria defender has now recovered and will play in central defence close to Simon Kjaer tomorrow.

According to Sky Sport Italia, Tomori could return to action on Sunday when Milan host Sassuolo at San Siro.
