Fikayo Tomori was forced off the pitch in the first half of Milan’s loss to Lazio and tests have confirmed a muscle injury for the Englishman.

The 25-year-old English centre back was a key player for the Rossoneri in their Scudetto charge last season, impressing across his 31 Serie A appearances, being a consistent and intelligent defender. Tomori’s form has fallen off a little this season and he was not brought to the World Cup in Qatar, failing to receive a call-up from Gareth Southgate.

As reported by Gianluca Di Marzio, Tomori underwent a round of medical tests this morning following his injury in Milan’s 4-0 loss to Lazio. The results revealed that the 25-year-old has suffered an injury to a rotator muscle in his left hip, forcing him to the sidelines for a number of weeks.

Tomori will undergo a new round of tests in seven days’ time, but initial indications suggest that he’ll be forced to miss the Derby della Madonnina clash with Inter on February 5.
