Director of sport Frederic ‘Ricky’ Massara was in Spain last night and this morning for face-to-face talks with Todibo, joined by agent Bruno Satin.

According to Sky Sport Italia transfer expert Gianluca Di Marzio, the meeting went well and the 20-year-old accepted the basic premise of a San Siro move.

The two clubs now have to thrash out a deal, but all three are eager to get some guarantees out of it.

This should result in Milan taking Todibo on loan with an option to buy at the end of the season, for a reported €20m, while Barcelona retain a counter-option to bring him back.

He only joined from Toulouse a year ago for €1m and has made just three competitive appearances this season.

This would enable Todibo to play regularly and prove himself before choosing whether to remain at Milan or return to Camp Nou.

The Rossoneri have rejected the idea of taking him on a ‘dry’ six-month loan without purchase option.
