The clubs who expect to be battling against relegation this season continue to be very active as the days count down to the opening fixtures.

Salernitana achieved quite a coup by bringing in Netherlands international midfielder Vilhena from Espanyol, on loan with option to buy for a total €3.8m.

Cremonese were again extremely busy, picking up Dessers from KRC Genk after he was Europa Conference League top scorer last term on loan at Feyenoord, while Luka Lochoshvili was signed from Wolfsberger AC.

Sampdoria sold Mikkel Damsgaard to Brentford and Dragowski finally ended the saga with his unusual move to Spezia, as Fiorentina will get 50 per cent of the sell-on fee.
