Milan are on the brink of completing a deal for midfielder Charles De Ketelaere, according to reports in Italy.

The Rossoneri’s interest in the Belgium international has turned into a saga which at times looked like it may end with the Serie A champions missing out on their target.

However, TuttomercatoWeb report documents have been exchanged with Club Brugge and De Ketelaere is expected in Milan on Saturday.

Milan directors Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massaro had two meetings with Brugge officials over the past fortnight but left both without striking a deal.

Throughout the saga the two clubs were reportedly confident and aiming to get a deal over the line but appeared unable to compromise on a fee.

On Thursday, reports emerged De Ketelaere had accepted to lower his wage demands in order to force through the move.

Premier League duo Leeds United and Everton were reportedly interested in the 21-year-old but it appears he only has eyes for Milan.
