Sky Sport Italia highlights that timing is key in Milan transfer talks for Romelu Lukaku, as Napoli must sell Victor Osimhen before negotiating with Chelsea.
Milan have emerged as an option for Belgian star Lukaku, who will return to Chelsea in the summer after a one-year spell at Roma.
La Gazzetta dello Sport reports that the 31-year-old is open to joining the Rossoneri or Napoli, where he would reunite with his former Inter coach, Antonio Conte. Sky Sport Italia notes that timing will be key in this negotiation.
Milan, in fact, can already match Chelsea’s €30m asking price, while Napoli must sell Osimhen before negotiating with the Blues.
Milan, however, are still not convinced about paying the full transfer fee required by the Blues and have planned a new round of talks with the striker’s representative.
Chelsea are unwilling to loan out Lukaku again this summer and will be pushing for a permanent transfer.
Milan’s priority in attack remains Joshua Zirkzee, but if the Rossoneri drop the Dutchman before Napoli sell Osimhen, then they’ll have a clear path for Lukaku unless the striker decides to wait for an offer from the Stadio Maradona.
