The talks are all done via intermediary Fali Ramadani, as the rapport between the teams has been frosty ever since Jorginho pulled out of a move to City at the last minute to join Chelsea instead.
The clock is now ticking, because their Serie A season begins on Sunday against Parma and Napoli would be more than happy to keep Koulibaly if they can’t get the right price.
Coach Gennaro Gattuso confirmed as much and the Senegal international has repeatedly stated he’d gladly stay at the Stadio San Paolo.
His contract runs for another three years and he is in no rush to leave.
