Fiorentina’s President admits “time is not on our side” with regard to Federico Bernardeschi’s contract.
The forward is out of contract in the summer of 2019, and has been linked with a €40m move to Juventus.
The Viola are still keen to tie him to a new deal at Artemio Franchi, but the club’s patron admits they’re running out of time.
“Time isn’t on our side,” Mario Cognini told ViolaNews.

“Time isn’t on our side,” Mario Cognini told ViolaNews.
“With two years until the expiration of his contract, all we can do is renew him, sell him, or keep him on the bench.”
Borja Valero is believed to be close to Inter, and the Fiorentina President was also asked about him.
“We haven’t put anyone up for sale, far less him, but players have to be convinced.
“Maybe his agent is listening to offers from others…”
Gonzalo Rodriguez has been allowed to leave the club, after the centre-back couldn’t agree a new contract.
“Gonzalo rejected our important offer,” Cognini said.
“It was strong and respectful, so much so that he’s still without a team.”
