Tiago Pinto was asked if the result of this quarter-final will be decisive in coach Fonseca’s future.
“Obviously not, the coach has already spoken and said what natters is the present. We are all focused on the present, doing what needs to be done in order to reach our objectives,” the director told Sky Sport Italia.
“There are many coaches whose contracts are running down in Serie A and I don’t understand all this attention put onto Fonseca’s situation rather than the others.”
Tiago Pinto and new owners the Friedkin family are working to transform Roma in the long-term.
“In order to change the mentality of the side, we need something very simple: win. That means win today, tomorrow and the day after.
“That doesn’t just mean win games, but the mentality to always improve and be eager to constantly get stronger. We are working on the mentality, and if results aren’t the best right now, we are sure that it will pay off in future.”
