It has been quite the week for Marcus Thuram, who scored his first Serie A goal for Inter and then broke his duck for France after replacing injured Milan striker Olivier Giroud.

The 26-year-old has made a very impressive start to his career with the Nerazzurri, contributing three assists and finding the net with a diving header in the 4-0 victory over Fiorentina.

Less than a week later, he was celebrating again, as he fired in the rebound from a charged down Kylian Mbappé shot to put France 2-0 up against the Republic of Ireland in this EURO 2024 qualifier.

Thuram was not in the starting XI and had come off the bench after 25 minutes to replace Giroud, as the Milan veteran was suffering from an ankle injury.

This was Thuram’s 11th senior cap for Les Bleus and his first goal.

His father, former Juventus and Parma defender Lilian, was in the stands to watch this moment.
