Inter striker Marcus Thuram feels he can finish a season with 20 goals and 20 assists in the future: ‘It’s the best moment of my career.’

Inter and France striker Thuram believes he’s in the best moment of his career and thinks he can soon finish one season with 20 goals and 20 assists.

The France international joined Inter on a free transfer last summer and won the Serie A title in his first season at the club.

“I was quickly adopted by Inter fans,” the France striker told Le Monde.

“Hearing your name spoken by 75 thousand fans is exciting, and when you love what you do, and you have a passion as great as mine, you can only appreciate it.

“I don’t set limits for myself after such a season. I’m in the best moment of my career and I’ve proved that I can improve every year, tactically and in terms of stats,” the striker continued.

Under Simone Inzaghi, Thuram has been playing as a centre forward, a role he can cover with his national team too.

“The winger role belongs to the past, I am a striker today,” he said.

“I want to make a difference in big games and also with the national team.

“I am competitive and aspire to become my best version. I think I can become one of the most complete players in the world,” added Thuram.

“I’ve proved that I could do great things, and I imagine I can finish a season with 20 goals and 20 assists.

“Before, they knew me because I was the son of Lilian Thuram. Now, I am mostly Marcus Thuram, without taking anything off my father who has 142 appearances with France.”

Thuram, 26, has scored 15 goals and provided 14 assists in 46 appearances across all competitions this season.

He has been included in France’s squad for Euro 2024. He made his senior debut with the national in November 2020 and has scored two goals in 18 appearances with Les Blues.
