Inter beat Inter 1-0 at Empoli and Lorenzo Bettoni was at the Stadio Castellani – Computer Gross Arena to bring you the three things you may not have seen on TV.

The Nerazzurri have had a perfect start with five wins in the opening five Serie A games. We’ve already analysed their deserved victory in Tuscany, but what did you miss by watching the game on TV? Let’s see.

Simone Inzaghi

It was just impossible to stop Inzaghi during the game. The Nerazzurri coach didn’t even spend one second sitting on the bench. He walked up and down the technical area all the time and when the result was still 0-0, he often caught the ball even before the ball boys to let his players resume play as soon as possible. At some point, halfway through the first half, he was furious with his midfielders, especially Davide Frattesi, who had lost the ball in the middle of the park, leading to an Empoli counter-attack and Francesco Acerbi’s yellow card. When the defender was booked by referee Matteo Marcenaro, Inzaghi seemed furious even with players and staff members on the bench. Sometimes his shouts could be heard from the press box despite the noisy chants from Inter fans in the away sector. Inzaghi was simply unstoppable, just like his Inter side seem to be.

Mini Meazza

There are over 3,000 seats in the away end at the Stadio Castellani Computer Gross Arena, but at least half of the almost 17,000 fans at the Empoli Stadium supported the Nerazzurri on Sunday. Tens of kids wearing black and blue t-shirts welcomed Lautaro Martinez and his teammates at the Castellani and even Simone Inzaghi was impressed by the reception he and his players received. “Today, we felt like playing at San Siro,” said the coach at a post-match press conference attended by Football Italia. “It was a nice atmosphere and these victories are also for them who support us so much.”

Calha the leader

There’s no doubt that Hakan Calhanoglu is one of the most loved Inter players and the frequent chants for the Turkey international prove it. The former Milan playmaker is a leader on and off the pitch and was one of the Nerazzurri walking under the away end after the final whistle to give his shirt to travelling fans. He urged his teammates to do the same and both Alessandro Bastoni and Federico Dimarco, two other fans’ favourite followed Calha in front of the away sector.
