Napoli are confident that Edinson Cavani and Marek Hamsik will remain, but it is a different scenario for Ezequiel Lavezzi.

Cavani fuelled talk of a summer exit by failing to rule out a move at the weekend, but President Aurelio De Laurentiis has reassured anxious fans that the Uruguayan is going nowhere.

“Cavani is a great guy and he’ll stay like the other players who want to remain,” the movie mogul told Radio Marte.

Hamsik, meanwhile, has renewed his contract. We signed a piece of paper in November with him and we’ve now done it properly.”

However, the third member of the ‘Three Tenors’, Lavezzi, has a €31m release clause in his contract that could be activated.

“Such a clause exists in a contract for players who want to be signed,” De Laurentiis continued. “The fact that he wanted it means that, sooner or later, it will be used.

“We have to see whether there are any clubs who want to invest that kind of money. If the player accepts to move on then it means that his cycle in Naples is over.

“Il Pocho is in my heart, but if he felt this was no longer his home then we would let him go.”

Turning to the club’s structure, the Azzurri chief stated that sporting director Riccardo Bigon would remain.

“Bigon is part of the project,” ADL continued. “He will continue to be a part of it. He’s an exquisite and well prepared guy.”

There were reports suggesting that Catania’s Pietro Lo Monaco could be heading to the city. “That’s an invention of the media,” the President concluded.
