Leonardo Bonucci, Paulo Dybala and Gigi Buffon have all been nominated for the Best FIFA Men’s Player 2017 award.

After France Football retook full control of the Ballon d’Or, football’s governing body launched its own ‘The Best’ series of awards.

It was announced earlier today that Massimiliano Allegri, Antonio Conte and Carlo Ancelotti are among these nominated for the coaching award, and the candidates for Player of the Year have been announced today.

Former teammates Paulo Dybala and Gianluigi Buffon have also been given the nod on the 24-man shortlist.

Public voting starts on Monday 21 August and finishes on Thursday 7 September, and makes up 25 per cent of the result.

The captains of each national team decide another 25 per cent, with the same for each national team Coach, and the remaining 25 per cent is mad up by a group of over 200 members of the international media.
