Three reasons why Milan want to sign Chelsea winger Pulisic

Talks between Milan and Chelsea for Christian Pulisic are ongoing, and La Gazzetta dello Sport highlights three reasons why the Rossoneri want to sign the USMNT international.

Milan continue to plan for next season after parting ways with Paolo Maldini and Frederic Massara. The duo had targeted Pulisic, which remains an option for the Rossoneri ahead of 2023-24.

The American winger has been struggling with playing time this season and could relaunch his career at the Stadio Meazza. He has one year left in his contract at Stamford Bridge and the Rossoneri are already in talks with Chelsea, multiple reports in Italy claim.

According to Gazzetta, there are three main reasons why Milan want to sign Pulisic. First, they’ve been looking for a new right winger for at least one year. Pulisic would add quality to Milan’s final third, matching Stefano Pioli’s demands.

Second, Pulisic is American but has a Croatian passport, so he would not fill a non-EU slot. Third, being a prominent member of the USMNT national team, his move to San Siro would open new avenues for the Rossoneri in the American market, with new owner Gerry Cardinale aiming to expand Milan’s brand off the pitch.

According to Gazzetta, Milan remain interested in Chelsea’s Ruben Loftus-Cheek and have and have also set their sights on Empoli‘s Tommaso Baldanzi and Watford’s Ismaila Sarr.
