A number of Lazio fans have been charged and arrested by police after the ugly scenes seen during the team’s 1-0 win away to Napoli.

Throughout the 90-minute clash at the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona, loud bangs were heard and various objects were thrown from the away stand, including smoke bombs and firecrackers.

One firework was thrown from the away section to the Curva A stand, where a young Napoli fan suffered serious injuries to his hands. The child was immediately taken to San Paolo hospital.

As announced by the Questura di Napoli, a number of Lazio and Napoli fans have been charged and arrested by police for their behaviour at the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona during the match.

18 supporters were fined after being found in possession of drugs. In addition, another eight were charged for various acts, including leaving their stands to cause trouble, possessing a smoke bomb, assaulting a steward and throwing a bottle at the team bus.

Three Lazio fans have been arrested after injuring a young Napoli supporter with a firecracker – a 22-year-old man from Velletri and two Romans aged 24 and 35, the latter of whom already had a criminal record.
