With Gianluca Scamacca out for several months with a knee injury, Luciano Spalletti is looking for a new centre forward for Italy’s next games.

The Azzurri return to the pitch in September for Nation League games against France and Israel.

Mateo Retegui has joined Atalanta from Genoa, while Giacomo Raspadori has remained with Napoli and may get more playing time under Antonio Conte.

However, Spalletti still needs to replace Scamacca, so according to Gazzetta, he’ll monitor three centre forwards in the opening two Serie A matches.

They are Moise Kean, who joined Fiorentina from Juventus this summer, Udinese‘s Lorenzo Lucca and Genoa’s new purchase, Andrea Pinamonti.

  1. sad state of affairs… why can’t this country produce goal scorers?
I would seriously consider some of the younger forward/attacking talents, including camarda, gnoto, pafundi – cant be worse than what we have now
