Midtjylland Coach Jess Thorup said Napoli “are among the 10 best sides in Europe and can win the Europa League.”

It kicks off at the Stadio San Paolo on Thursday at 18.00 GMT, Napoli will automatically qualify with a victory.

“We have had several injuries in recent weeks and will need a few fitness tests before tomorrow’s game. All those who made the trip are available,” said Thorup in a Press conference.

“Napoli have a lot of quality all the way through their squad. We did well for the opening 20 minutes against them, even if it’ll be tough to play like that for an entire 90 minutes. We will try to do our best.

“We have to improve a few situations during the game that used to go in our favour. More than anything, recent defeats are affecting us psychologically.

“Tomorrow is a good opportunity to prove what we can do against Napoli, who are among the 10 best sides in Europe.”

The Partenopei won 4-1 in Denmark, maintaining their 100 per cent record in the Europa League, but a draw tomorrow could qualify both teams for the knockouts if Legia Warsaw and Club Brugge share the spoils.

“If we’ve come here, it’s because we are convinced we can get at least a point, if not all three. It’ll be tough, but we must believe in victory.

“We haven’t lost away from home in a while and we learned a lot from the last time. In a period of 25 minutes against Napoli we were so disorganised that we conceded goals we wouldn’t even let in during training sessions.

“I can only say that this is our most difficult game of the season. Napoli can win the Europa League.”

After Midtjylland lost domestically to Viborg, Coach Thorup gave the players two days off.

“We discussed it after the game and in my view it’s a psychological problem more than anything else, so the players needed some rest.”
