Erik Thohir could represent Inter when they come before UEFA on November 7 to answer questions about Financial Fair Play.

UEFA have opened investigations into whether seven clubs – including Roma and Inter – who returned to UEFA competition this year, breached Financial Fair Play (FFP) regulations, which seek to prevent clubs from spending more money then they earn.

The Gazzetta dello Sport reports that Erick Thohir could personally make an appearance before UEFA in Nyon for the Nerazzurri’s hearing, as the club seeks to plead its case to European football’s governing body.

The newspaper states that while Inter will acknowledge breaching regulations, the San Siro club will argue that most of the costs were incurred under the previous regime of Massimo Moratti.

This is seen by the Gazzetta also as a possible reason for the former patron’s resignation from his role as honorary President.

It is believed that Inter will point to cost-cutting measures put in place by Thohir since taking over the club, as well as an effort to generate new revenue streams, to argue that the club is heading in the right direction, but will need to be afforded time to comply with FFP.
