Welcomed home by supporters in the middle of Wednesday night after flying back from Naples, where they had despatched the Vesuviani 3-1, the Nerazzurro squad stayed the night at a hotel next to the airport, as scheduled.

Overnight, however, a number of cars belonging to players and staff at the club – including those of Coach Stefano Colantuono and winger Giacomo Bonaventura, who had played a pivotal role in beating Napoli – had been broken into. Belongings had been snatched from the vehicles parked outside the hotel, whilst thieves had also smashed several of the cars’ windows and doors.
